What is it like to volunteer at Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage?
Ryvanz-Mia orphanage is composed of a number of buildings within a small gated compound. The main house is a two story building. The first floor consists of the children’s bedrooms, a family room, and a small kitchen. The second floor is off-limits for the orphans and is the volunteer quarters.
There are 5 bedrooms equipped with double beds or bunk beds, and one shared bathroom. The beds are already prepared with mosquito nets. There is a porcelain toilet and shower bathtub. There is also a dinner table upstairs for the volunteers.
Other buildings within the compound include an office, a new kitchen and dining hall, and a chicken coop.
Food is cooked for volunteers and clean drinking water is provided on site, and it is also easily accessible throughout Kpando. Two hospitals are located within a 15 minute walk of the orphanage. The staff and children at Ryvanz-Mia orphanage will make you feel at home the minute you walk onto the grounds!
The nearest internet café is approximately a 15-minute walk from the orphanage.
